A New Favorite!

I found this etsy shop today, and I am so glad I did! These cuffs are super cool, and vintage-inspired! I was suppose to be shopping for x-mas gifts for my family, but I had to stop and buy one of these for myself! I purchased the Vintage Reindeer cuff, and I can't wait to wear it to our house x-mas party!! Buy one for someone you love, or buy one for yourself! But just buy one!!!!!

A few new treats to the shop!

I know Christmas gifts are on everyones' minds right now, but I have started making items not so holiday related but still just as cute. Here are a few of the newest items in store now!

A Vintage Christmas

Every year I look forward to the time when we put the Christmas tree and decorations up! This year we did it on November 13th! Early, yes but so worth it. Our whole family gets so much joy out of the decorations that I wish I could keep them up all year round.

I have been collecting ornaments for years now, and recently inherited a couple of boxes of vintage tree ornaments from my mom and my mother in-law. I love the shiney new ornaments as well, but there is something special about the old decorations you have enjoyed since your childhood.

Here are a few pictures of just some of the decorations we have put up this year! The last two photos are extra special vinatage ornaments from my mother in-law. A long time family friend made these ornaments by hand out of egg shells. They are tiny, delicate, and have amazing detail. We have 6 of these special ornaments, and each one is different.

Shoe Clips

I was contacted by a woman who asked me to custom make her a set of shoe clips. The idea is she would attach them to her ballet flats. I thought this was a brilliant idea, and immediately my mind was racing, and thinking of design ideas! Here is a picture of the clips I made. I used tiny, single prong alligator clips that can be used in the hair or on the shoes.

If I do decide to offer these in my shop, I would probably start offering them after the holidays, with some new Valentines Day and spring designs! P.S. the white specs are suppose to look like snow! LOL

Ok, I have added quite a few new items to the shop recently. But this one by far is my favorite! Its the Best Friends Forever Headband, and its adorable!

Ok, my blog is feeling neglected these days! I have been too busy to write here, but I thought I would post a Halloween picture of my kids. My son who is 4 1/2 was Indiana Jones, and my daughter who is 10 months was a lion.

What Friends Are For!!

One of my good friends Rachel is a fellow crafter! And by crafter I mean she makes her own line of jewellry (http://www.innocentvintage.etsy.com/), and a few baby items to boot! I love this onesie she made for my baby girl. Faux necklaces galore! I believe she uses a fabric marker from just a local craft store, and draws her own unique designs. You could try this at home too! The marker stays put even wash after wash! This would make a very cute baby gift!

Joe Fresh Style

Here in Canada we have a clothing line for kids, babies, women, and men called Joe Fresh Style. This clothing company is founded by the same man who curated Club Monaco. Joe Fresh is only available at the Canadian Superstore (like a Walmart). The prices are fantastic and the style is amazing... I recently purchased a pair of cords for me, a shirt for my son, and a pair of pj's for my daughter. I love these jammies!!!

I came across the sweet shop on Etsy.com when I was randomly browsing, as I often do. I fell in love with several of their items, and just had to share them with you! Packaging

My packaging is simple but sweet! I hand make all of my hair accessories, so in keeping with that tradition, I hand make all of my packaging as well. I cut all the paper, hand stamp every one, and take a lot of pride in making sure each package looks as sweet as can be! I guess that would be the advertiser in me (use to work for an ad agency before I had kids).

My little sweet girl loves to read books... Only she can't actually read them yet. She loves to look at the pictures, especially of animals. Here she is sitting on the couch reading!!!

She's Here and I love Her!!!

Today was like Christmas for me! I received several wonderful packages in the mail today, one of which was my custom doll from Warm Sugar, http://www.warmsugar.etsy.com/. Her name is Gwen and she is a pretty pirate!!! She is the new mascot for my etsy shop at Giddy Up & Grow. I love her blonde hair and eye patch made from seude. The fabrics used are vintage, and the owner of Warm Sugar, Shannon really makes sure you get what you want. Pure cuteness~~~ Her cheeks are even rosey!! I highly recommend checking out Warm Sugar if you are in the market for special, one-of-a-kind dolls for your little ones. There are several price ranges and these dolls really are special! I just love mine!
