Love my kids!

Today is my birthday and we had a fantastic day! Hanging with my kids is the best even though I sometimes get burnt out and threaten to run away!!! But I love them soooo much and wouldn't trade them for the world!

Canadian Family Magazine contacted me last night to say that they used one of my Giddy Up & Grow hair clip/brooch in their May issue!! Very exciting to have the exposure for my shop, and I can't wait to see the issue. I am going to be a total nerd and frame the article!!

She's Crazy.....

My daughter is now 15 months and way to heavy to be in a Jolly Jumper, but she misses it soooo much. Every time she sees it in the closest, she freaks out!! She wasn't much of a jumper in it per say, but she would spin herself dizzy, and she loved it! Check it out!!

Favorite Moments!

I was looking through old photos trying to get rid of anything I didn't need stored on my computer, and I found some of my old favorites!
Eagerly waiting for a bite of his sister's birthday cake!!
One of those moments I am glad I got on camera...

My gorgeous son!

I am truly blessed to have such sweet children! I want them to always be kind to others, and to eachother!

Giddy Up & Grow Photoshoot!

I was lucky enough to have to the very talented Laura Winslow photograph some of my hair accessories. The pictures turned out amazing, and I get so many compliments on the way the hair accessories turned out. Here are just a few of the pictures. You can check out Laura Winslow's photography here http://www.laurawinslowphotography.com/. Laura was very gracious to let me use one of her images for an upcoming magazine ad for Small Magazine. This online magazine has amazing photography and resources for children's gear!

Recent Pictures of my Crazy Kids!!

Life goes by soooo fast... Just keeping up with my two kids is exhausting, but fun! My son recently turned 5, I can't believe it!!! When did he grow up. One minute ago he was just a baby, and now he would rather play Star Wars, build lego and take Karate lessons! He is amazing!!

My 15 month old Noelle! She looks like an old Granny bank robber here!

A quiet moment looking at a book. Her favorite is to look at animals and imitate the sounds.

At the moment, a very rare loving time between brother and sister. These days they fight over everything!!

I couldn't help myself!

Working very hard at his latest creation!

Izzy & Ivy Designs

The owner/founder of Izzy & Ivy Designs contacted me, to see if Giddy Up & Grow would be willing to partner up for some new dress patterns. Izzy & Ivy make patterns for various things such as children's wear, handbags and other crafts. I was asked to custom make some hair accessories to match the fabric of some new spring dresses. Of course I was delighted, and can't wait to see the photographs from the photoshoot. Its great exposure for my shop, as my shop information will be printed on the pattern, which is sold worldwide!!! Here are just a few patterns from Izzy & Ivy!

Book Photography

For the past few weeks, I have been working on the felt flowers that will be used in the photography for the front & back covers of my book (50 Felt Flowers to Make). The book making process has been an enjoyable one, and I have learned so much along the way.

I took a very rough photo (on my crappy camera), for you to see what the idea will look like for the back cover.

I think it turned out really sweet, and I can't wait to see what the professional photographers do with it!!

Holly Smokes it's been forever!!!

Well its' been a couple of months since my last blog post. So much has happened since November! My baby girl turned 1 (she is now 14 months old), the holidays were super crazy, and I was offered a book deal! That's right, I said "Book Deal"! A publishing house in London, England (Quarto Publishing) saw my felt flowers on a few different websites, loved them, and contacted me with an offer I couldn't refuse! Long story short, I am half-way through the making of this book, which will be more like a crafters how-to guide on how to make your own felt flowers. The book will include my own patterns, instructions, and even different home decor and fashion accessory projects. I am very excited about this opportunity!

Also, I have so many new items to my etsy shop Giddy Up & Grow, that I can't even list them all here. But here are just a few of my new favorites! Check out the shop from time-to-time, as new items get added all the time!

Need a special hair accessory??? No problem, just contact me with your request, and we can work together to make a special piece just for you!

A New Favorite!

I found this etsy shop today, and I am so glad I did! These cuffs are super cool, and vintage-inspired! I was suppose to be shopping for x-mas gifts for my family, but I had to stop and buy one of these for myself! I purchased the Vintage Reindeer cuff, and I can't wait to wear it to our house x-mas party!! Buy one for someone you love, or buy one for yourself! But just buy one!!!!!

A few new treats to the shop!

I know Christmas gifts are on everyones' minds right now, but I have started making items not so holiday related but still just as cute. Here are a few of the newest items in store now!

A Vintage Christmas

Every year I look forward to the time when we put the Christmas tree and decorations up! This year we did it on November 13th! Early, yes but so worth it. Our whole family gets so much joy out of the decorations that I wish I could keep them up all year round.

I have been collecting ornaments for years now, and recently inherited a couple of boxes of vintage tree ornaments from my mom and my mother in-law. I love the shiney new ornaments as well, but there is something special about the old decorations you have enjoyed since your childhood.

Here are a few pictures of just some of the decorations we have put up this year! The last two photos are extra special vinatage ornaments from my mother in-law. A long time family friend made these ornaments by hand out of egg shells. They are tiny, delicate, and have amazing detail. We have 6 of these special ornaments, and each one is different.

Shoe Clips

I was contacted by a woman who asked me to custom make her a set of shoe clips. The idea is she would attach them to her ballet flats. I thought this was a brilliant idea, and immediately my mind was racing, and thinking of design ideas! Here is a picture of the clips I made. I used tiny, single prong alligator clips that can be used in the hair or on the shoes.

If I do decide to offer these in my shop, I would probably start offering them after the holidays, with some new Valentines Day and spring designs! P.S. the white specs are suppose to look like snow! LOL

Best Friends Forever!

Ok, I have added quite a few new items to the shop recently. But this one by far is my favorite! Its the Best Friends Forever Headband, and its adorable!

Halloween Fun!

Ok, my blog is feeling neglected these days! I have been too busy to write here, but I thought I would post a Halloween picture of my kids. My son who is 4 1/2 was Indiana Jones, and my daughter who is 10 months was a lion.

Equestrian Sophisticate!

Equestrian style has long since ruled the fashion runways. Its such a sophisticated, and glamorous look but super easy to wear in everyday life while feeling comfortable wearing it! The 2010-11 fall/winter runways are chalk-full of this amazing style in very different ways. I tried to take this sophisticated style and make it more approachable for the younger audience. Of course I would never stop an adult from wearing this unique, one-of-a-kind hair accessory!!! Check it out!
