I have been basking in the sun lately, and spending time with my family. Enjoying my kids, hanging with friends and working on new hair accessory ideas for back to school, fall and Halloween.

Working on Halloween Samples
For my Giddy Up & Grow accessory shop, I have to start working on halloween ideas early. I have a bunch of new fall and halloween inspired hair accessories coming at the end of summer. But the Bunny ears I have been working on are just too cute to hide. I think I might even start offering them in the shop early, as I already have a waiting list of orders. What sets these ears apart from other halloween ears you might find, is the girly vintage fabric in the center of the ears, and that I use both hard headbands for older girls, as well as a wider soft nylon headband for newborns and babies 2 and under. How darling are these ears!!! Seen here on my daughter who is 18 months old.

Summer Favorites!
I wanted to share some of my favorite summer activities and accessories with you!!
1-4. My son and daughter enjoying a fun playdate at a friend's house. A bunch of moms and their kids, make for an entertaining morning!
5. I love my coral colored flower ring from Blush Envy. The perfect summer color.
6. Having a cocktail with my husband when he gets home from work is always nice, especially when we can sit outside on a sunny evening! The kids seem super impressed here!
7. This picture includes three summer favorites. First, my new obsession is Butter London nail polish. I love the color "Frilly Knickers". Seconds, my wood beaded friendship bracelets sold in the shop here. And third, the new Giddy Up & Grow lipbalm in a bunch of delicious flavors!
Hope you are enjoying your summer!!

Boho Baby
I have been buying different things for my daughter to wear in an upcoming photo shoot. This is the theme that I am going with, Boho Baby. I have been making a lot of summery hair accessories with butterflies lately, so I was thrilled to find this sunsuit with butterlies in the fabric. And how cute are these leather fringe boots...

Kids & Felt Markers...
Both of my kids are creative and love craft time... But I must say their favorite thing to color with are jumbo felt markers. Of course I only buy the non-toxic washable markers from crayola for this very reason... See pics below!!
Not to mention the bright purple patch that was drawn on my carpet.. Good thing we invested in a carpet cleaner!!

Shaping up for summer!!
Ok ladies, we do it every year right!! Decide we will loose a few pounds before swimsuit season begins... I do it myself every year and swear I will just eat salad until I look like a supermodel! However, it never lasts as I just "LOVE" food too much, oh and a great glass of red wine! So in order to try and eat salad as much as I can, I go on the hunt for some great salad dressings. My mom, is an amazing chef, and she told me of this homemade dressing that is to die for!! Its super simple and tastes great. I think it especially tastes great with fruit in the salad! Here is the recipe:
DRESSING
1 tbsp of maple syrup
2 tbsp of balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 clove of garlic crushed (just crush enough to get the juices flowing)
pepper to taste
1/2 cup olive oil
SALAD
Spring greens or salad mix of your choice
1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese
3/4 cup of caramelized pecans
1 cup of fresh strawberries or orange slices
Enjoy!!!!

Family Adventures!!
Very often our little family jumps in the car and goes on an adventure. We don't have to go that far, but wherever we go its usually always fun for everyone...Sometimes its the zoo, sometimes the park, picnic, hike in the woods etc. Yesterday we went to the mall, grabbed Vietnamese subs and went to the park.

A few new shop items...
I have added a few new items to the shop... One of my new favorites was inspired by the Royal Wedding! All of these items can be found at http://www.giddyupandgrow.etsy.com/! Enjoy!!
Easter Spender!
On Easter weekend we were all sick with head colds... So it was very laid back.. But here are a few pictures to share. My dad drove 9 hourse from his home to ours, so he could see the kids and take my oldest to his first adventure at a Dinosaur museum in a nearby town.
Canadian Family Magazine!
This post is a couple of weeks late, but when I received my copy of the Canadian Family Magazine May issue, I was delighted to see a small picture of a baby wearing one of my hair clips. The Style Editor clipped the Daffodil clip to the baby's little tank top, which was genius! It just goes to show you how versatile these little clippies can be. They look super cute in the hair, or clipped to a shirt or cardigan, double duty hair accessories! Here are a few pics I took of the mag. and I must say I am very proud to be in a National Canadian Magazine!

Meet Madame Tutu
Here is a new addition to the shop! Madame Tutu Felt Flower Sequin Headband! I love how pink and girly this headband is!
"Is she a kid model?"
So the other day I posted some new photos I took of my baby girl on facebook, and I had several people ask if she was a child model. Of course not... I just know how to work magic with some photo programs that bring out the best features and colors! Of course as her mother I believe she could be a child model for sure, but alas I am the photographer! I also get asked how I get her to sit still to take a good shot. And the answer is "I don't". Sometimes it takes me 50 shots to get 5 good ones, but that is the beauty of digital. I can erase and take more shots to find the perfect one! Here are a few of the good ones! She is wearing the new Dainty Headband from Giddy Up & Grow!
