Wednesday Menu

It's Wednesday, which usually means mid-week kaos in our family. But as the weather gets cooler, I find myself wanting to nest and hibernate more. With these activities comes the need for making and eating comfort food. One comfort food I use to love as a child and still love, is a great vegetable soup. The chunky kind almost like a stew, not a wimpy soup!

I found this recipe here at Butterfly Food, and I love that there is pasta in it!

This is what my Fall style has become, as I take chilly walks to the bus stop every morning with my two kiddos in tow! I love warm scarves, comfy shoes and casual jeans! All somehow looking effortlessly chic!

I found this adorable printable Halloween Card from A Fanciful Twist. If you are into making gifts for your kids teachers, this would make a cute card! Just click the pic for the link!

Giddy Up & Grow shop news! All Halloween items will be removed from the shop on October 1st. I know that seems early, but with manufacturing time and shipping, I did not want any unhappy customers not receiving their items in time for the big night! You can never count on customs clearance...

However, the good news is that the new Christmas/Holiday collection will be available October 1st, and I must say I am very happy with how things turned out. I have used both Modern & Traditional color combinations, cute adornments and a loving hand to make this year's collection.

Sunday Specials

Its Sunday, and usually a day for rest, but not for us. Sundays are now full of activity... Swimming lessons, baking, creating etc. But so much fun.

My son has now officialy started his school career, which also means I now have to come up with exciting snack and lunch ideas. My son is not picky, but busy. He would rather be playing than take the time to sit and eat. I worry that he wont get enough "brain" food to give him stamina for the day. I turned to the internet for inspiration, and found that bento boxes make fun and nutritional lunches.

My son's school also has a rule, that for each week there is a specific food my son needs to bring for snack time. This week its apples. Since everyone in our family loves apples, I have decided to work double duty, and make us all an apple treat. Apple crumble is one of my favorite desserts, so baking this today will have us all happy including my son's teacher!! Click the picture for the recipe!!

I find the colors in this next picture really inspiring! Warm colors for the fall.
And one last thing!! Use coupon code PHOTO15 to receive 15% off your purchase in the shop today, INCLUDING HALLOWEEN items which are already marked down by 20%!

HAPPY SUNDAY!!

Things to do on a rainy day!

Well lets just say the weather has been a little dismal around here for the past couple of days. Cold, rainy and gloomy. Not a nice way to end the summer, but since I can't convince mother nature to change her tune, I have been searching for simple crafty things to do inside and keep the kids busy.

I found a couple of neat ideas that I thought I would share!

Have any of you made home made play dough? I remember my mom making it for us as kids. I found this website that offers two different recipes for play dough. The cook-it version and non-cooked version. Brilliant at home fun! Check out the link here at Color Me Simple.

After a fun afternoon of making endless play dough snakes and spaghetti noodles, I was craving something a little comforting but super easy. The Zen Family Habits is one of my favorite sites for super easy and quick noodle recipes.

Lots of kids have been shuffled off to school this week. My son starts next week (Kindergarten), and he is super excited. Its a little bitter sweet for me, but I know it will be so much fun. If you need some new fall fashion hair accessories to match with the new fall clothes, check out some of the new items in the shop at Giddy Up & Grow.
